Some pretty good news!

Yesterday we had our annual visit to Primary Children's for Jax's sedated Echo cardiogram, When Jax was about 5 months old they diagnosed him with Left ventricular hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. What that means is that the muscle surrounding the left ventricle is thicker and stiffer than it should be, making it difficult for the heart to relax and for the blood to fill the heart chambers. The limited filling also prevents the heart from supplying enough blood to the body. There are cases that the muscle thins out on it's own, but generally if that is going to happen it happens by age 1. The good news is last August we took him in and they could find abnormalities on his EKG, and also on his Echo. This time Jax's cardiologist said that his EKG looks completely normal, and they couldn't see anything on his Echo. We still will have to continue to follow up annually. Jax was such a good sport! We are sooo grateful to have him in our lives. He has such a sweet, loving little spirit about him!
